South Llangynog mine, Llangynog, Powys, Wales
2949
In the 1980s the old tips of South Llangynog mine were worked through by Pentre quarry. Collectors soon after found blocks of mineralised veinstone in the quarry coated with calcite which on removal exposed some of the best sulphide specimens found in Wales. This specimen from that find shows cubic crystals formed over a bed of quartz. Ex. Jim Padden collection
