Old Wham vein, Hazard Mine, Bradwell Moor. Derbyshire, England
2874
Barite is abundant in Derbyshire usually in massive, coxscomb or stalactitic form. Large crystals are rare, the area around Hazard mine being the only location to produce them. This is a good example from the mine composed of a narrow spray of barite crystals grey to pale blue in colour and coated to one side by later cream coloured barite.
