Calton Hill specimens can be either calcite on quartz or quartz on calcite and this specimen is one of the latter type with hematite spotted quartz crystals sitting attractively on earlier scalenohedral calcite crystals. Nice combinatiuon. Ex. D. Walker-Barker specimen
